The scene is peaceful and relaxed, but it is in tension with the surface which seems to have a dynamism that is too fast for this content. The tension is heightened by the rather forceful vertical grain of the sky which is at odds with the horizontal grain of the earth. The narrative is biblical in theme depicting a shepherd walking towards his sheep. Between the shepherd and his sheep lie temporal things, posessions, that will eventually decay and rot away. In the meantime, the sheep seem to be consuming pixels in an artificial-looking field.
