I would describe some of my paintings as 'rhizomatic'. The way we see ourselves, our identities, are not static but change over time. The multiplicity of heterogeneous forces in our lives test us and cause us to change. Our identities can be compared to rhizomes that are continuously growing horizontally in the soil with temporary roots, always changing and becoming the intersection of disparate things.
